Syndergaard, de Grom shine, Duda OK as Mets hit like the… Mets

by @ 11:41 am. Filed under Uncategorized

Both Noah Syndergaard and Jacob DeGrom looked great in spring debuts while 1B Lucas Duda responded well to treatment for his core soreness issues and is back playing well. The Mets organization from the big club to rookie ball emphasizes big boy ball- Home runs and doubles– off the concept of see your pitch, hit it hard — and when you see players on all levels adopting the Sandy Alderson- Rick Down line of thinking, its pretty cool. We all know Yoenis Cespedes, Neil Walker, Duda, Michael Conforto, etc but when you see a Phillip Evans, TJ Rivera or Gavin Cecchini execute that philosophy it is pretty cool. New York has recently got lots of credit for having such great young pitching but the position player development is also noticeably better and the team is close to having super position prospects SS Ahmed Rosario and 1B Dominic Smith major league ready. Been telling anyone who wants to listen this team is set up to be scary good for a long time. Well built, well constructed, balanced roster. #LGM
