Lots of noise and news this week and as a writer who covers MLB, I feel the need to share some thoughts….
1- When you look at how this whole issue has been mismanaged, overlooked,covered up,etc, you have to ask how the CEOs, Presidents, Leaders ,etc of this sport,(Yes, you Bud Selig(Commishioner/MLB) and Donald Fehr(MLB Players Association) still have jobs!
2- When you vote for the Hall of Fame over this time period, how do you decide who to vote for? How can u be sure so and so is clean….
3- You wonder why the players don’t trust the owners, take a look at the release of A Rod’s name after he took random survey sample test. How does this happen? Who allowed it to happen?
4- Hats off to the likes of Lance Berkman and Curt Schilling for speaking out and being honest and open
5- Shame on Union COO Gene Orza for his role in this A Rod mess. He appears to have attempted to cover for 1 star and it has blown up in his face. He should be on the unemployment line… NOW
6- Those other 103 names should be published IMMEDIATELY
7- However, any player named in that report should sue both MLB and the Players Association for millions
8- Does Jose Canseco still look the like boob he was made out to be by the paid off MLB media? Name me a player he has been wrong about…(Clue- U might be here a while!)
9- Knock, Knock, Hank Aaron and Roger Maris are knocking and want those records back!
10- About the only every day player I can be positively sure is roids free is one Ken Griffey Jr
11- Do you think A Rod misses Seattle?
12- Does anyone get great joy in the fact that 4 of the major roids names(Clemens,Pettitte,Giambi and A Rod) to surface are stars on the …YANKEES!!!!?????
13- Steriods make great players greater but will not make you hit the ball if you cannot hit PRE roids. It helps you hit farther, longer. If this was not true, I would be the Left Fielder on the Mets!
14- Not enough pitchers being named in all this. Trust me, Clemens is not alone.((Although he makes a GREAT whiping boy!)
15- Can you trust what u see under the leadership of this sport?
16- The Whole ARod interview—Give him credit for admitting guilt but …. does he think fans are stupid? He signs a 250 million dollar plus deal and takes drugs without knowing what they are?! He then does not know if he failed a drug test? Mark my words, this season will be BRUTAL for him. He cares deeply about his image, this is not Barry Bonds, who enjoys being the bad guy. He wants to be liked and he looked awful on the ESPN interview. How will he hold up to ARoid, A Roid chants all season?
17- How sad is it that some of the biggest stars in this game have tainted both the record books and their own names?(Bonds, Rose, Clemens, A Rod,McGwire,etc)
18- Another name I believe is clean— Greg Maddux
19- I have been asked about 50k times who I thought leaked ARod’s name, I have a simple answer who in MLB would profit from his demise? More importantly, who would make money or enjoy watching him squirm?
20- I have a nominee for the new leader of MLB and it is someone the sport turned to in 1995 when the owners and players tried hard to ruin things… CAL RIPKEN JR
