The Mets got back on track with strong outings by starter Sid Fernandez and some solid relief work from Roger McDowell. Fernandez left the scoreless game after seven innings after giving up only four hits while striking out ten. Roger McDowell pitched two no-hit innings and he improved to 3-0.
The game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the ninth. Ray Knight led off the inning with a double, and then Tim Teufel singled him home for the walk off RBI.
