A big first inning and a strong outing by Ron Darling ended the Mets two game losing streak. Darling improved to 13-5 by going eight innings. He gave up only a single run on five hits.
Keith Hernandez and Mookie Wilson both homered and drove in two runs. Wally Backman had two hits and a run.
