Lenny Dykstra hit a two run shot in the bottom of the third inning to put the Mets up early and with some solid pitching by Ron Darling, the Mets held on to win the game. George Foster went two for four with a solo homerun and Ron Darling went two for four with a run.
Darling went the distance and gave up only two runs (one earned) on five hits. he struck out five batters and improved to 8-2.
