THINGS COULD BE WORSE, METS FANS!!: I know you are angry and disappointed but with the loss Friday, the Pirates clinched their 18th straight losing season, A record in a major American pro sports history!
GAME NOTES: Pelfrey won for only his second game since June 25th…. Reyes(#18) and Wright((#27) both stole bases. However, Wright was caught for the 9th time on the season as well…. Pirates CF Andrew McCutchen had a good night out of the lead off spot. The talented young player filled the stat sheet: 2 hits, rbi, walk and his 26th stolen base…. Mets skipper Jerry Manuel said post game that LF Jason Bay(Concussion) is improving and recovering nicely. He could still return in 2010…Over his last 3 starts, Pelfrey is 2-1 with a 1.64 ERA. He has allowed 4 earned runs over 22 innings…. Great stat from ESPN’s Jayson Stark: If the Mets do not win a road series this year they will join the 1909 Senators as the only teams to not win vs a team in their own league. Win Saturday or Sunday, Boys!
NEXT GAME:
