Tom Seaver Fan Club

Okay, no crazy play at the plate for Dodgers fans to hide behind in this one.  Tom Glavine just shut them down for six innings before the pen did their job in the final three frames.  The only blemish was a solo homerun by Wilson Betemit off of Aaron Heilman in the eighth inning.

The Mets drove in three of their four runs without hits.  Jose Reyes and Julio Franco drove in runs with ground outs and Paul Lo Duca hit a sac. fly in the fifth that scored Jose Valentin.  The final run was scored on an RBI single by Reyes in the sixth.

Game three is Saturday night and it would sure be nice to wrap this series up then.  It’ll be Steve Trachsel going up against Greg Maddux.
