Cubs 8, Mets 2 (99-53)
The Cubs pummelled the Mets to prevent them from breaking their franchise win record. Doug Sisk was shelled in the seventh inning to allow the Cubs to run away with it. Rick Aguilera actually took the loss due to two early runs and he dropped to 8-7.
Gary Carter drove in both of the Mets runs with a two run shot in the top of the eighth. In total, the Mets only had six hits and two walks.
