Mets 6, Mets 5 (100-53)
The Mets tied a franchise record with their 100 win of the season in a tight contest with the Cubs. The Mets appeared to have things in check after scoring three runs in the top of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie, but Roger McDowell was knocked around and Jesse Orosco had to come in and get the final out to end the rally.
Kevin Mitchell hit his 13th homerun of the season and singled. Ray Knight drove in two runs and Mookie Wilson went three for five.
