The Mets had their worst offensive game of the season by being shutout and held to only two hits. Gary Carter’s double and Lenny Dykstra’s single were the only hits of the game.
Ron Darling had a great outing go to waste and he dropped to 14-6. He gave up one run on six hits and no walks with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work.
