From Tom Seaver to Dwight Gooden to Carlos Beltran, A look at the New York Mets past, present and future.

The Mets are getting closer. I figured we’ll lock things up sometime in the next two weeks. In the meantime, our first round opponent pretty much changes daily.
David Wright appeared to be getting back on track on Tuesday. He led an offensive onslaught with three hits and three RBIs. Four different Mets had at least two runs and four more had at least two RBIs. Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes homered in the 10-5 win and Steve Trachsel was solid through six innings.
It was more David Wright on Wednesday. He hit a grand slam and drove in five runs. Jose Valentin had two solo homeruns and Carlos Delgado went yard as well. Dave Williams had another solid start and he improved to 4-3.
Oliver Perez was bounced around yesterday as it looks like he’s coming back down to earth. He gave up seven runs on twelve hits in only three innings of work. David Wright homered and Jose Reyes went three for five with two RBIs and a run.
Next up is Houston, who’s in that Wild Card race with everyone else.
