Cardinals 1, Mets 0 (93-50)
The Mets matched their longest losing streak of the season by dropping an extra inning pitchers dual. Ron Darling left the game after nine innings, effectively throwing a four hit shutout, but the Mets couldn’t put a run on the board. John Tudor started the game but left in the fourth inning with a sore shoulder.
The game finally ended in the bottom of the thirteenth. With the bases loaded, Roger McDowell walked home the winning run as he dropped to 13-9 on the season.
