Despite jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first, the Mets seven game winning streak came to an end. They Scored two runs on two hits, but they were held scoreless in the final eight innings.
In the meantime, the Expos put up single runs in four different innings to chip away, and then eventually take over, the lead. Bruce Berenyi walked seven batters and gave up three runs on three hits to drop to 2-1 on the season.
Mookie Wilson, Tim Teufel and Kevin Mitchell all had two hits. The Mets were unable to draw a single walk in the game, and they struck out eleven times.
