From Tom Seaver to Dwight Gooden to Carlos Beltran, A look at the New York Mets past, present and future.

Thank you Nationals. While I don’t buy into momentum too much in baseball, I do feel a bit better that the Mets rolled into the post season with four straight wins. That included a three game sweep over Washington. Next up is the Dodgers with game one being four pm on Tuesday.
It was fun to Julio Franco put up some nice numbers on Saturday. He had three hits, including a homerun, and five RBIs. It was also nice to see Tom Glavine throw six shutout innings. He came short of 200 innings, but he did get his 15th win and he’s set himself up nicely to notch win number 300 next year.
It’s playoff time, and the Mets are in it. Hopefully they’ll be able to go as far as they did in 1986.
