Man, Steve Trachsel laid an egg. With nobody out in the second inning, he had already been tagged for five runs, including giving up a homerun to the Cards pitcher, Jeff Suppan. And then the bats never got on track. They managed only three hits and a single walk and despite a strong relief outing by Darren Oliver, the Mets never got back into this one.
Tonight it’ll be Oliver Perez against Anthony Reyes. Perez has looked pretty good in his last game but hasn’t pitched in a week and a half. He has a pretty good start in his only appearance against the Cardinals this year and he’ll have to be on, because we can’t go down 3-1 and expect to win this series.
