From Tom Seaver to Dwight Gooden to Carlos Beltran, A look at the New York Mets past, present and future.

Win or go home is the mantra the next two days as the Cardinals are now one win away from pushing the Mets out of the playoffs. Jeff Weaver of all people outdueled Tom Glavine and now the Mets find themselves in a must win situation.
The Mets actually had the lead in this one for a short bit. Jose Valentin doubled home Carlos Delgado and Shawn Green, but those were the only runs the Mets would score the entire game. Tom Glavine was bumped in the fifth without getting anyone out and giving up the third run and Pedro Feliciano gave up a solo shot to Chris Duncan.
So now it’s all up to John Maine, who will have to beat Chris Carpenter. Hopefully the Mets will be able to get the bats going tonight, because if they don’t, they might get to start working on their golf game earlier then wanted to.
