All appears well on the K Rod front, as Mets closer Francisco Rodriquez appears to be Ok after a major back scare post game Saturday night. K Rod experienced severe lower back spasms, collapsed outside the locker room and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. He was given pain medicine and released, he appeared 100% better in the Mets clubhouse Sunday. “Man, that was really painful,” Rodriguez said. “I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I was struggling to walk yesterday, but I got some medicine, and I feel pretty good now.”
Rodriquez, the Mets big offseason signing after his record setting career in Los Angeles pitching for the Angels, was confined to the training table Saturday but appears to be almost 100% recovered. He showed up pregame Sunday carrying his own luggage, a sure sign his back is feeling better! K Rod was scheduled to play catch Sunday and a timetable for his return is unknown.
