Philadelphia Ace Roy Halladay delivered with both his arm and bat Saturday night while the Mets left both in the locker room as the Phillies won 4-0 at Citi Field. New York collected 6 hits all night and made 2 huge errors that led to 3 runs while dooming call up LH Pat Misch’s(0-1,1.50) first start of the season. Over 6 innings, the lefty allowed 8 hits and 4 runs(1 earned) while striking out and walking 2. Halladay, who collected the first hit of the game for the Phils, scored the only run they would need in the 3rd on a single from 3B Placido Polanco. He also was great on the mound, giving up 4 hits over 8 innings while K-ing 7 on 113 pitches.(79 strikes) The Mets drop to 58-58 on the year and they are 9 games out of first place in the NL East.

GAME NOTES: Closer Francisco Rodriquez addressed the media pre-game, apologizing to the team and fans for his altercation after Wednesday nights game. Published reports have him entering anger management while he stated he will not be able to discuss his situation further due to legal issues….Halladay is now 15-8 with a 2.24 ERA on the year… Phillies CF Shane Victorino & Polanco had two hits apiece to lead both clubs… The Phillies scored a single run in the 5th(Tejada throwing error) and put the game away when a ball went thru Wright’s legs for the final two runs in the 6th… Relievers Bobby Parnell(1-0,4 holds,3.74) and Elmer Dessens(2-1,4 holds,1.86) pitched the 7th and 8th innings without allowing a baserunner… Reyes leadoff the 4th inning with a triple and was stranded at 3rd after Halladay got Pagan to ground out and K-ed Wright and Beltran.. Rodriquez pitched the 9th and was Booed loudly entering the game. Wright is also hearing it from the fans and is now 4 for 41 in August! …. Mets starting pitchers have allowed only 7 earned runs in 55 1/3 innings over their last 7 games… LF Jason Bay visited the team pre-game but the club had no update on when he will return from the concussion he suffered on July 23rd
