Giants 7, Mets 3 (31-12)
The Mets winning streak came to an end as Giants jumped out to an early lead against Bob Ojeda and never looked back. The Giants scored four runs in the first and two in the third to make it 6-3. They added an extra run in the fourth, but even then the game was pretty much decided.
Bob Ojeda was pulled after 3 1/3 and he gave up seven runs on nine hits. Mooke Wilson homered for the Mets as he went two for two with two runs. Wally Backman was two for four with a run.
