The Mets won their series with the Expos by whalloping them in the finale. The Mets took a 3-2 lead into the seventh, then opened the game up with two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth.
Gary Carter homered and drove in four runs and Darryl Strawberry hit his 26th homer of the seaosn. Dwight Gooden won his 17th game and gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits with seven strikeouts.
