Mets 3, Expos 1 (67-32)
The Mets ended their two game miniskid behind Dwight Gooden’s eleventh win of the season. He threw five innings and gave up a single run on four hits and he struck out seven. He got a ton of help from Roger McDowell, who held the Expos scoreless through the final four frames en route to his eleventh save. He gave up only one hit and one walk.
Ray Knight went two for three with an RBI and Kevin Mitchell tripled (the only extra base hit for the Mets) and scored a run.
