Mets 4, Dodgers 2 (29-11)
The Mets made it four in a row by edging the Dodgers 4-2. Dwight Gooden bounced back from his previous rough start and held the Dodgers in check. He went the distance and gave up only two runs on five hits while striking out ten.
The Mets did most of their damage in the six inning when they put three runs on the board. Kevin Mitchell capped off the inning with a two run shot Keith Hernandez homered earlier in the game and Ray Knight went two for four with an RBI.
