Expos 7, Mets 4 (44-18)
The Expos blew out the Mets and took two of the three against a team that came into the series on a hot winning streak. Dwight Gooden was shelled for seven runs (six earned) on six hits and six walks. He only struck out one batter and he gave up two homeruns.
Darryl Strawberry and Gary Carter both hit solo homeruns. It was Strawberry’s eighth and Carter’s twelth of the season. Wally Backman went three for four.
