Reds 3, Mets 2 (20-5)
Dwight Gooden gave up three runs in the second inning as his perfect record was snapped. It was a very un-Goodenlike performance and he went five innings and gave up three runs on eight hits.
Darryl Strawberry drove in a run with a sac. fly and Danny Heep had an RBI single. The Mets were held to a mere five hits and starter Bill Gullickson has a no-hitter going through four innings.
