2B Luis Castillo’s game winning 2 out single in the 9th lifted the New York Mets over the Florida Marlins Tuesday night at Citi Field in New York. NY won only their 2nd game of the season when trailing after 7 innings and stands at 63-62 on the year. The Mets 2-4 hitters combined to go 8 for 13 with LF Angel Pagan’s 4 hit, 3 run night. CF Carlos Beltran had 2 hits, 2 rbi, 2 walks and a run, He also tied the game with a two out in the 8th. R.A. Dickey(8-5,2.64) pitched well but made one huge mistake in the 7th inning and Marlins rookie 1B Gaby Sanchez put it in the left field seats for a 3 run shot. LH Hisanori Takahashi(8-6, 4.05) pitched a scoreless 9th for the win as the Mets moved into 3rd place in the NL East.

GAME NOTES: Mets are 37-22 at home… Marlins SS Hanley Ramirez had 3 hits… Thole and Wright also had 2 hits for NY…. Francoeur, who has put together several patient at bats over the last 10 days or so, had two sacrifice flies
