NY Mets SS Jose Reyes underwent an MRI at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan Sunday morning(July 3rd) and the test revealed he has a grade 1 strain(Least severe of all hamstring injuries) of his left hamstring. Manager Terry Collins told reporters post game that it is possible that his leadoff man will not play til after the all star break while GM Sandy Alderson wants to see how Reyes responds Monday and over the next couple of days. Reyes says he feels nothing in the leg right now but will be careful. He will not play until his leg can withstand a full game and hopes to play Tuesday in Los Angeles.
