Just when you thought things could not get worse, Mets superstar CF Carlos Beltran was just placed on the 15 day DL with his right  knee problem.  The have recalled super prospect Fernando Martinez to fill the roster spot. Beltran joins 1B Carlos Delgado, SS Jose Reyes, Set-up man J.J. Putz and starting pitchers Oliver Perez and John Maine on the DL. No truth to the rumor that the Mets will play “Alone” by  Heart when 3B David Wright bats for the next two weeks.

In another small move, RP Ken Takahashi was sent down and LH Pat Misch was recalled to fill his spot.
