Mets 13, Astros 2 (60-25)
The Mets started the second half of the season just like they finished the first half by running up the score on the Astros. The Mets were actually down 1-0 for most of the game before the exploded for seven runs in the seventh inning. They added three runs in each of the last two innings to complete the blow out.
Wally Backman had a huge game as he went three for six with five RBIs. Darryl Strawberry and Len Dykstra both drove in three runs and Ray Knight scored three times.
Bob Ojeda improved to 11-2 on the season with six quality innings. He gave up one run (unearned) on four hits and he struck out two batters.
