3B David Wright’s homer leading off the 9th was the closest the Mets would get as Marlins closer Leo Nunez hung on, escaping a bases loaded jam to secure the win 5-4 Wednesday night at Citi Field. Rookie RH Alex Sanabia(3-1,3.62) was outstanding for Florida, throwing 73 pitches over 6 and a third innings while allowing 4 hits and 3 runs(2 earned) with a walk and strike out. LF Logan Morrison had 3 hits and 2 runs for the Marlins while SS Hanley Ramirez was 4 for 5 with a run and rbi. With the loss, The Mets drop to 63-63 on the season, falling to 37-23 at home.

STRANGE STAT OF THE NIGHT: Mets had 7 hits total and 4 Players supplied them, the 4(Wright), 5(Davis,1) ,6(Francoeur,2) and 7 hitters( Thole,2)!
GAME NOTES: The Marlins run in the 7th vs Ryota Igarashi was the first allowed by the Mets relievers in 17 and 2 third innings…. Florida had three runners thrown out at the plate…. Tejada is an a TITANIC slump going 1 for his last 34…. Misch(0-3,3.50) pitched his 3rd solid start for NY, allowing 9 hits and 4 runs(3 earned).. Reyes was 0 for 5 and is hitless in 10 at bats…Ramirez stole his 26th base for Florida… Sloppy game all around with 2 errors by each club and several other potential mishaps throughout…. Sanabia threw 17 1st pitch strikes to 24 Mets. An Incredible percentage!!!!
