Phillies 3, Mets 2  (37-16)

The Mets gave up their 2-1 lead to the Phillies in the eighth then lost the game in the tenth inning as their three game winning streak came to an end.  The Phillies got on the board first with a run in the fourth, but the Mets answered with two runs in the sixth.  Darryl Strawberry drove home Len Dykstra with a sac. fly and then Wally Backman scored on Ray Knight’s single.

Jesse Orosco gave up the tying run in the top of the eighth on Von Hayes’ single.  He held the Phillies scoreless in the ninth, but Davey Johnson went to his pen in the tenth and Doug Sisk gave up an RBI single by Glenn Wilson that ended up being the game winner.

Rick Anderson made his first start of the season and he was very solid through seven innings of work.  He gave up one unearned run on four hits while striking out five.
